Ashley Simmons-Administrative Coordinator

Born in Washington DC and raised in Atlanta, GA, Ashley Simmons decided to return to her birthplace to attend Howard University where she majored in English. Although she minored in African Studies, she took several classes in Secondary Education and began to take an increasing interest in today’s youth and the effects the educational system has had on them. Therefore, when given the opportunity to help middle school and high school youth in afterschool programs, she readily jumped on it. Ashley has served the young people of the Gandhi Brigade since October 2008 and became a part of the staff full-time as the Administrative Coordinator in August 2009. She continues to care for the young people she interacts with and is glad to lend a hand in their positive development.
