Hawa Touré was born in Elizabeth NJ; her family is from Guinea Conakry. When she was three, she moved to Guinea. She came back to the United States when I was nine, and moved to Maryland when she was 13 years old. She first heard about Gandhi Brigade, the beginning of her junior year in high school through by her mentor Gina Smallwood.
